Windowpane
It’s funny how you sometimes find the thing you’ve been looking for in the darndest place!
I had been shopping for the right way to introduce windowpane into my wardrobe for a few months – the white Theory sweater was too risky (as in, tomato sauce accidents risky), the 3.1 Philip Lim suit too expensive, and the Express trousers too unflattering on my wide frame. Then the other week I went into a little stationary store in my neighborhood and found the perfect thing on their small rack of clothing.
I love everything about this sweater: the swingy cut references the cape trend, the cropped length is very current and friendly for skinny jeans and pencil skirts, the material is a fantastically fuzzy woven, and it cost less than $60! That’s a lot of winning!!!
I’m predicting that the brand that makes the top, JOA, will be a new favorite with me. They are in a great price-point (I’d liken them to a BB Dakota price) and their collections are bright, young, and modern. I already have my eye on a few more things from them.
